Last week I met my MP HERo Denise Kesson in Parliament.

MP HERoes lets MPs nominate female entrepreneurs in their constituency for outstanding achievements or successes, and earlier this year I nominated Denise.

These are difficult economic times.

Covid followed by Putin’s war in Ukraine has meant that all around the world inflation is making people poorer. Here in the UK we have to do what we can to get it under control and protect families.

I know how tough it can be to get around in rural places like Faversham and Mid Kent.

While many people choose to drive, that's clearly not an option for everyone - especially with recent increases in the cost of fuel.

I've been campaigning for years to get a Jobcentre outreach post in Faversham. 

For some residents, getting to the Jobcentre in Sittingbourne often created the very same barriers that were making it hard to get into work.

Everyone is being hit with the rising cost of living at the moment. But for some families, even doing everything right, it’s becoming increasingly hard to make ends meet.

People are fed up of the disruption caused by Operation Brock.

This year alone has seen two long spells of the barrier being in place – causing misery to motorists and businesses.

Getting people into work is incredibly important.

It’s the best way to help people get on in life, support businesses, and grow our economy.

Bus services are a lifeline for lots of people.

Whether it’s getting to work or school, doctor or dental appointments, or heading into town to meet up with friends, many will struggle if services stop.

Today the Chancellor announced a bold set of measures to get our economy growing - something that's vital to improving people’s standard of living, as well as funding public services.
