Jobcentre events arrive in Faversham

I've been campaigning for years to get a Jobcentre outreach post in Faversham. 

For some residents, getting to the Jobcentre in Sittingbourne often created the very same barriers that were making it hard to get into work.

That’s why we needed the Jobcentre to come to us - to help people find a job which works for them - and I'm delighted that they’ve heard our calls. After working with the Jobcentre and local partners to find a venue, regular events are now going to be taking place at West Faversham Community Centre, focussed on helping people overcome barriers to work. 

Now that we've got these events up and running I’d encourage anyone struggling to find work to come along. Whether it’s transport, hours, or flexibility around care – job opportunities are out there with the right help and support.

Event's have already included a 50+ Hub and a Health Hub, and the the next event will be a Childcare Hub on Wednesday 2nd November. To book you can send your Work Coach a journal message or email SITTINGBOURNE.UCFULLSERVICE@DWP.GOV.UK
