Work Experience

I offer work experience opportunities to students from the Faversham and Mid Kent constituency. The placement gives young people an insight into local politics and a chance to boost their skills. Students will be able to help with a number of tasks:

  • Casework, depending on the age and ability of the student
  • Researching an issue
  • Press monitoring
  • Writing press releases
  • Accompanying me to a meeting or event in the House or in the Constituency
  • Assisting with office duties
  • Answering queries from constituents

Please note that we get a high volume of requests for work experience. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to accommodate everyone who applies. Where we are unable to offer a placement, I would always encourage young people to get involved in politics in other ways, such as by gaining work experience with a political party or with one of our local councils. Please see my Parliament Week tab for more information.
