After a long summer campaign, our party has a new leader and our country has a new Prime Minister.
Now is the time to come together and focus on the many challenges facing people in this country.
Like Liz, I’m determined to see us deliver on the commitments we made to the British people in 2019. That includes investing in the infrastructure we need for our economy, making sure people can get the health and social care they need, and creating a society where everyone can achieve their potential.
I know Liz will continue our strong support for Ukraine and call out Putin’s use of oil and gas as weapons of war. That includes taking whatever steps are needed to support people and businesses with energy bills this winter.
While we have a new Government, as ever my priority remains serving people in Faversham and Mid Kent to the very best of my ability.
We will weather the storm together and emerge stronger on the other side.
