My surgery meetings in 2022

Helen at surgery meeting

As your local MP, my job is to make life better for people in Faversham and Mid Kent.

Part of that work involves taking up problems on behalf of local residents.

It might be helping to get a dangerous telegraph pole removed, securing funding to fix painfully slow broadband speeds, or chasing up a visa application or driving licence.

In 2021 alone, me and my team received over 17,000 emails from constituents. While I may not be able to solve every problem that people contact me about, I will always do my best to help.

Surgery meetings were disrupted during the pandemic, but in 2022 I’ve decided it’s time for regular surgeries to return.

While Covid means it is still not possible for face-to-face surgeries to take place, I’ll be holding regular online meetings – starting this month. These will usually be on a Friday.

My current surgery meeting dates are below:

  • Friday 21 January
  • Friday 4 February
  • Friday 25 February
  • Friday 4 March
  • Friday 22 April
  • Friday 20 May
  • Friday 1 July

In most cases, it will be possible for me help people via email or letter. But for particularly tricky casework problems, I know it can be helpful to discuss things.

If there is a problem you think I can help with, then please contact me with your full name and address in the constituency – together with a summary of the problem – and one of my team will be in contact.

We need to take water capacity seriously

Tuesday, 9 August, 2022

One of the concerns I hear most from people about new housing is the impact on local infrastructure – from roads to drainage.

I know from the emails and letters I receive just how much local residents want to see water quality improved and an end to localised flooding.
