Thank goodness, Reform UK in Kent have woken up and realised their plan to cut our local Fire & Rescue Service was a bad one.
I welcome the U-turn. It was madness to consider cutting fire and rescue services, especially at this time with so many fires happening and a growing population.
Thank you to everyone who signed my petition to show the strength of feeling against this.
The Fire Brigades Union did a great job speaking up against the cuts and organising the protest on Tuesday.
And the biggest thank you goes to the firefighting crews who put their own lives at risk to save others time and again.
Please everyone take care in this dry weather to avoid causing fires and to raise the alarm if you see one.
