Restored Preston footbridge is a step forward for Faversham Station

It’s been closed for six months - making it harder for people living south of the railway to get into town - so I was delighted to re-open the Preston footbridge.

It’s been spruced up and strengthened so it can now stay open during the hop festival and other town events.

MPs call for rural roaming to tackle mobile blackspots

I was delighted to sign a letter to the Secretary of State, for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Jeremy Wright MP, along with 74 other MPs to ask the Government to make a requirement that network operators enable roaming between providers to improve mobile coverage in rural areas.

 

Have we finally seen the back of Operation Stack?

We had a reminder of how bad Operation Stack could be when high winds caused problems at the ports a few weeks ago. That should be the last time we have to put up with the closure of the motorway, as Operation Stack has now been replaced by Operation Brock.
