Break deadlock on swing bridge restoration

It's time for an end to the deadlock that is delaying restoration of Faversham swing bridge.

People in Faversham have worked incredibly hard to raise the money for the swing bridge – now the commercial operator must throw its weight and considerable resources behind the project.

The bridge is jointly owned and operated by Kent County Council and the commercial port operator Peel Ports.

But at the moment Peel Ports seem reluctant to get involved and that’s holding back progress. They have not responded to requests to cooperate with KCC for four months. I'm writing to them demanding they work with KCC to finish the job.

Peel Ports must break the deadlock, step up and play its part in restoring the swing bridge.
