Stop Lenham Heath Development

Helen with Lenham Heath campaigners

I'm shocked at the scale of the Lenham Heath 'garden village' being proposed by Maidstone Borough Council and concerned about how close it is to villages nearby.

Plans for 5,000 - or more - new homes would destroy an area of farmland at the foot of the North Downs and put huge pressure on local roads and services.

Lenham Heath decision rides roughshod over local views

Thursday, 30 April, 2020

It’s hugely disappointing that Maidstone Council has chosen to ignore people’s concerns and endorse plans for a ‘garden village’ at Lenham Heath.

The decision by Maidstone's Policy and Resources Committee rides roughshod over local views.

Lenham Heath ‘garden village’ will cause traffic chaos

Tuesday, 28 April, 2020

I’ve called on Maidstone councillors to reject plans for 5,000 new homes at Lenham Heath.

The proposed development will put even more pressure on local roads without necessarily providing the homes local people need.

Tell me what you think about the Lenham Heath development

Lenham Heath and the surrounding area are under threat.

Maidstone Borough Council has revealed plans for a new ‘garden village’ around Lenham Heath which could see 5,000 – or more – new homes built in this area.
